What's New – november 2011

The first phase of the mediated modelling has been completed for the Greater Wellington region. A proto type systems dynamic model is now at:

Greater Wellington Mediated Modelling Workshop Update

Auckland Council Mediated Modelling Workshop Workshops were held September 8th, November 24th. The next workshop is March 15th, 2012. 

The Envirolink Tools project to develop a web-based directory of spatial models and other decision support systems for policy and resource management is underway. 

The National Advisory Group for Integrated Planning meeting was held on 19 August 2011. Next meeting is Feb 2012.

What is Sustainable pathways 2 or SP2?

SP2 integrates state-of the-art- research with policy to enable better decisions in integrated planning. There are two case study regions; Auckland and Wellington.

  • SP2 is a 6-year project running until 2015
  • The objective is to develop tools to support integration and consensus building among stakeholders
  • SP2 will develop tools to map land-use change and its flow-on effects on social, cultural, economic and environmental well-being
  • The project will provide the Auckland and Wellington regions with scenario tools for transition pathways over the next 30-50 years
